We had a great convention last month at the campground by Lake Yojoa. There were over 80 pastors that attended the 3 days and 4 nights of the annual Pastors Retreat and Convention. God moved in a mighty way. We were all renewed and challenged to be faithful servants. Vicente Martinez from Guatemala and C.W. Goforth from Florida were the Retreat ministers. God used both of them to challenge our hearts through the teaching and the preaching of the Word.

Angel Orellana was reelected as the National Superintendent of Honduras. He has been a hard-working and faithful servant. The pastors reelected him for another term of 2 years.

We received reports of more new works during this convention. God has blessed and there are now over 80 works here in Honduras and 2 in El Salvador. Please continue to pray that we will all rise to the challenge to meet the many new opportunities to begin new works. Many villages still do not have an Evangelical Church that is preaching the Gospel to them. The burden that God has placed upon our heart is that of providing a trained pastor for them.

Please continue to remember the Bible Institute in your prayers. In April, Julio Lopez, the Bible Institute administrator, resigned. Orlando Sanchez and his wife, Yessenia, are the new administrators. They are beginning well, in the work of administrating; but they have a lot to learn. It is a big job. - Please help us pray that they will become the servants that God wants them to be and will lead the Bible Institute to produce many ministers for God's Glory.

We are all doing well. The rains have finally started and that has helped to cool things off a little. However, it has been very humid, so I am not sure what is better -- just over 100 degrees and somewhat dry or just under 100 degrees and muggy. I guess that we are never quite happy as humans.

I well remember in January of last year, we were preparing to return to Honduras after 6 months in the States for itineration. It was cold and there were several inches of ice on the driveway of my parents home in Michigan. I spent a good part of the day chipping ice so that we could move our travel trailer into it's parking place. The black-water tank froze up and I had to pour hot water and antifreeze into the tank, then bucket by bucket haul the contents of that tank to the bathroom in the house and flush it. You can imagine the unpleasantness of that job!!

I promised God if He would get me back to the heat in Honduras I would not complain about it being too hot. It was hot last week but, I remembered my promise - and I remembered the cold of Michigan. So I am just sharing with you about the heat -- I am not complaining.

How often we are like that as Christians. God delivers us from one trial and we immediately start complaining about the next one as it begins. Maybe we should thank Him for delivering us from the past trial and thank Him at the same time for giving us the strength to face the current one. If you really want to give the devil a black-eye -- thank Him for the next trial in advance and how much good it will do for you. Can you imagine what a happy place our churches would be if we put this into practice??

We have several new needs here in Honduras. Some are for new churches, others for the pastors, or the schools. If you are interested in helping or knowing more about these needs please write us or chick on the "Ministry Opportunities" button on the left. .

Please remember us in prayer.

In HIS Love,

Les, Charlene, Scott, Craig and Rosalie Melton

P.S. I almost forgot -- we have a special praise report! Scott received his driver's License here in Honduras and is doing good at driving. His Mother and I are trying to remember what it was like when we started driving but, the memory is a little fuzzy. HAHA Rosalie and Craig have taken to making jokes about driving. I think they are sowing what they will reap one day.
