God has been good to us and has provided for us and protected us. As we travel here in the States we are constantly reminded of God's blessings on this great country. The paved roads, the massive continuing building of stores and businesses, the availability of products, the availability of help if you have a need, and the ease of communications, are all signs of a blessed nation. For us the greatest symbol of God's blessings are the churches. No matter the size of the town or village there is a church present. What an honor to be from this nation. The month of August was spent in the Kentucky district. We visited 13 churches and shared with them what God has been doing in Honduras. We also shared with them our vision for the work in Honduras. We are currently in Springfield, Missouri visiting churches in this area. We have visited 30 churches so far and have traveled over 10,000 miles. It is great to be able to see so many friends that we have not seen for 10 years. We also have had the pleasure of making many new friendships along the way. One of the neat things about being in the Southern Missouri District is that we can visit with Scott. That seems to make his transition to college life a little easier, (easier for him and for us!) He is doing well at Messenger College. He now has a job working at a Mexican food restaurant. I talked to our National Superintendent in Honduras last week. He told me one of our pastors is not doing very well. His name is Salomòn Membreño. He is suffering from some kind of lung problems and needs your prayers. I understand that he is critical - so he needs urgent prayer. We ask for your prayers as we continue to be on the road for the next several months. We are visiting many churches that have faithfully supported the ministry in Honduras and El Salvador for many years to give them a report. Also, we have 2 budgets we are endeavoring to raise. Most importantly we are asking each person in each church to remember us and the work in Honduras and El Salvador in their daily prayers. We also, ask each of you to remember us and the work in your daily prayers. I have included at the end of this e-mail a summary of the 2 budgets we are working on. Please include them in your prayers as well. Yours for Missions, Les, Charlene, Scott, Craig and Rosalie Melton The "TO GO" Budget (project needs) Included in this budget is our plane fare to Honduras, upgrading of our mission vehicle in Honduras, purchase of a photocopy machine, building of a small national office in Honduras, building of four new church building and parsonages in Honduras. The projected amount is $46,000.00 God has blessed with $17,500.00 so far. The Monthly Budget We need to raise $1150.00 in new monthly support. Praise be to God Who has blessed with $300.00 in new support. The increase in our monthly budget involves an increase in the helps we give to our national superintendent, a "church planters" fund, increases in travel funds for Regional Supervisor activities, and an increase in the support to the Bible Institutes.
