![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | El Salvador is the smallest of the Central American countries. It is one fifth the size of Honduras and has 1/2 million more people. So that makes it the most densely populated country. Civil war raged in this tiny country for nearly 12 years. Tens of thousands were killed and many more displaced. Many chose to immigrate illegally to the U.S. and now even though there is lasting peace many choose to stay in the US because they have become used to the way of life there. The Pentecostal Church of God has been struggling for some time to establish a foothold for churches in this country. One of the necessary parts of establishing a permanent work is being recognized by the government so you can own property, have bank accounts etc. Here in Central America it is called being recognized as a legal organization. We had done all of the paperwork twice and it was denied or lost. The third time was the charm. On Friday, January 4th, 2002, the lawyer handed me the documents. What an important step forward. We have one established church in the city of Santa Ana. We have another work that is being started in the town of Sonsonate. Also, we may be sending a pastor from Honduras to pastor the work in Sonsonate soon. Please join with us in prayer that God will send forth many laborers into the field while there is yet a little time. Click Here to view our new maps page. The following are a few pictures of the Santa Ana church:
We now have legal status in El Salvador! Praise The Lord!!
