User Reviews about Syphon Filter: Logan's Shadow
This is the follow up to Dark Mirror and it plays like a true sequel. Everything you enjoyed
about Dark Mirror is here and then some. You have cooler weapons and some designed for
sub-merged combat. Yes, you can go underwater in this adventure in both single-player campaign and
multi-player. In the Single game, there is an interesting back story that gives motivation to the
main character Gabe Logan. You don't have to play the first game to understand but it helps. I'm
glad they do enough to keep you up to speed. I really enjoy the versatility in the missions. It's
not just run and gun. In fact, I have found that when I use stealth in certain situations, I'm more
effective since it doesn't alert more bad guys to the party. I'm glad you have that option.
The graphics are great, much like the first one, it really makes use of the psp potential that a
lot of games don't use. I would describe the multi-player as glorious. I don't remember the last time
I used that word but that's what comes to mind in Infrastructure mode. So many levels to choose from which
include some from the first game including Shanty Town. Only this time, it's flooded so you can swim around
the evironment in certain areas, it's incredible!
It gets all 5 stars because compared to other PSP titles, this has more depth and plenty of fun to be had.
Re-playability comes from Mission Mode or going online in Infrastructure Mode. I like grappling with an enemy
and using him as a human shield. That's one of the new features you should check out. -- Just as good if not better
okay, just because your limited by the controls doesn't mean you need to be limited in the head. well, this line of work is probably one of the best in the line of PSP shooters. normally I get really pissed off, but this is really good. I imagine a whole lot of things that go out of balance, and things that taken off because game companies are, what I like to call, "prejudice" against the PSP, because they severely limit what a PSP can do as opposed to a PS3, PC, or Xbox 360. This game has in game graphics like a PS2, but has cutscenes that look like PS3 in game cutscenes. the story isn't that long, but the objectives do take a while to consider it a game that takes a while. A good story campaign should always have some parts that are hard, stuff that needs more than just reaction, and this game totally fills that blank. The multi-player, even though limited in size, should not be passed up. though almost everything on this game for multi-player is close quarters, it still utilizes a very good system so that it reminds you a bit of Halo, but with a whole lot more cunning involved as opposed to run and gun. you can still do that, but you can also ambush, mine, use environmental props to fire from, rush, you name it. really great game, haven't regretted buying it. -- awesome gameplay, great multiplayer, outstanding
